Purpose We aimed to investigate the characteristics of kidney disease in severely obese Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods This was a cross-sectional study of severely obese patients (body mass index≥ 35 kg/m 2) with T2DM treated at Jinnouchi Hospital, Kumamoto, Japan.
